DT Cox Elementary School Drop off and Pick Up Video Camp DTC Video This video describes pick up and drop off procedures for DTC students at West Heights. Show Transcript Hi everyone I wanted to take just a few minutes to talk to you about all the fun we have in store for you next week as you know our building is being renovated and cleaned but West Heights has graciously offered their facilities for us to be able to use so that school people can continue its going to be our home away from home for the next few weeks and we're calling it Camp DTC Camp DTC has all of the fun that you would expect from a summer camp we've got the mess hall with lots of good food the wreck area for all of our normal activities recess and of course cabin time with your teacher learning everything that you need to know and the best part about Camp DTC no homework so we're going to spend a few minutes telling you what you can expect on Monday but before I go I want you to know how much we miss you we can't wait to see you your teachers are ready to see you so on Monday don't forget Camp DTC I'll see you there what you need to know first is that just like each day on our campuses student safety is our most important concern just like at school West Heights is a secure location there will be 1 point of entry with an unlocked door we have our school resource officer with our students and staff if you need to check out your student you come to the office where our secretary will greet you as always you will need to provide your identification just like on our campus doors are locked and secure and we have cameras just like we do on our campuses if you bring your child to school each day you will continue to get to do that and familiar staff will be here to greet you car rider parents to drop off you will turn right into West Heights parking lot at the entrance closest to CVS Pharmacy and continue around the back of the building hey careful attention to miss Vandiver in the white van as she demonstrates where to turn in the parking lot and pull around behind the building for the car rider line there will be cones and signage to direct you we strongly encourage you if you have multiple car rider children in multiple buildings in the Pontotoc City School District to drop off your DT Cox children last while we will be located at West Heights after you drop off your child for car rider follow the cones to the exit and you will take a right out of the parking lot on to West Oxford Street pay careful attention once again as Miss vanderver demonstrates this for us as she leaves the car rider line and turns right onto West Oxford Street if you rely on buses to transport your student to DT Cox each morning and afternoon they will be dropped off at the Pano talk Junior High and Pano talk Middle School campus get breakfast and then be transported to West Heights to begin instruction we will have DT Cox staff that will greet students and walk them to the cafeteria we have DT Cox teachers in the cafeteria to make sure that they are safe and secure we want students to have familiar faces to be with them from the moment they step foot on campus in the afternoon car rider pickup will be the same as the morning and students who ride buses will ride buses to the Ponto Junior High campus and gather in the Ponto Junior High Gym to catch their bus from that location again these students will be accompanied by DT peacock staff what will instruction look like from my student we are fortunate to have a technology staff that is able to put our familiar devices at West Heights teacher will continue to teach each day in a classroom setting instruction will continue our daily schedule will stay close to the 1 that we had on campus we have access to a gym a cafeteria and a playground while they're learning environment has changed instruction and expectations will continue your student needs to be present and will be counted absent if they do not attend we have chosen account theme to make this an adventure for students and staff if you hear your student talking about Adventure and camping we are trying to make the most out of this experience so if your student wants to know what to wear to camp we recommending that you send your student wearing tennis shoes parents thank you for trusting us each day with your students thank you for being patient with us as we have worked to get information to you thank you for your continued support and encourage judgement in this unconventional time we can't wait to see you it can't DTC Monday morning.
